The death of Anita Page was announced this past weekend. Page was the last living star who worked as an adult during the silent film era.

Released before Hollywood adopted the Hays Code, The Broadway Melody garnered an Academy Award for Best Picture, along with two more nominations for Best Actress in a Leading Role (Page) and Best Director (Harry Beaumont).

Great way to honor her memory. I'm not familiar with her work. I need to read up on her after seeing these GORGEOUS pictures.

Just saw a film 'Navy Blues', and i thought 'who was this girl... who is she?' It was Anita Page... and i had to find out who she was. What a beautiful lady she was. Found out she passed away a couple years ago. I was in awe of her film presence. She had the makings of a superstar.
