What's with the comment censorship on the Holy War thread? Where'd my comment go and why shut down comments?

Dr X replies: I'm trying to prevent a holy war on my blog.

I'm fascinated by the campaign slogan on those FDR posters. "A Gallant Leader." A little Google reveals that this was a big part of the 1936 campaign message. What were they conveying? Heroic qualities to overcome the dangers spreading in the world?

What an odd campaign slogan for a reelection campaign for a president.

Thanks for looking into the posters. I usually try to dig into the photos I post for background. I was also curious about the Roosevelt posters, but didn't have time to look into them. Was it about the depression, the rising tide of fascism? Good questions.
