Memorial Day, Chicago; an early morning stroll.
Aqua is an 86-story mixed-use residential skyscraper in the Lakeshore East development in downtown Chicago. Designed by a team led by Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang Architects, the building is the tallest in the world to have a woman as lead architect, at 859 ft (262 m).
Three more local photos, below the fold.
The Aon Center, previously the Amoco building, originally the standard oil building. 83 floors, 1136 ft. At the time of its completion in 1974, the Standard Oil building was the tallest marble clad building in the world.
The Wrigley Building from East Wacker Drive.

Like them. What camera?
Now, I will write out a hundred times on the blackboard:
I will not ask why it is usually men who design tall towers..
I will not ask why...
(it DID strike me as odd that a woman would design one, but perhaps I am hopelessly sexist....)

Thanks for making me aware of aqua, it's a wow.
"the building is the tallest in the world to have a woman as lead architect"
Hang on for a sec and I'll see if I can figure out how many skyscrapers are taller than 859 ft. ... Wikipedia lists it as tied with 4 other buildings for 143rd tallest in the world. 142 taller skyscrapers. Yeah, that seems to be a bit of a boys' club there.
