Newtown schools will be closed on Monday. Monroe CT, an adjacent town, has offered Newtown the use of an unused elementary school. Good idea.
So how do they go forward? How are the kids being prepared for return and what will occur on the first day of return? How are the teachers being prepared? Will clinicians be brought in for any special activities once the return to school occurs?
I expect police will be posted at the school for a while. This is a good idea, but it is a bit of a double-edged sword. On the one hand it says we'll protect you, on the other it says there is still danger out there. This is how the mind works. There is no psychological free lunch.
