Teenage boy: You won't tell me what you want.
Teenage girl: I'm a girl.
That's all I heard. The tone wasn't contentious. I wonder what her statement means to her and what it means to him. Probably multiple meanings for both and not simply about gender, but about what they need and what they want and, among other things, how they signal and pursue both. Perhaps most significantly, what's being pursued isn't necessarily consciously known to either of them.
