Twitchy is screeching about Andrew Sullivan and sanctimonious liberals seizing on Hillary's blood clot. He/she/it/they point to one non-treating doc's comment to WaPo:
Head trauma can cause blood in a venous sinus to clot, but it almost always has to be severe enough to cause a skull fracture, said Aaron S. Dumont, director of cerebrovascular surgery at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
“It’s probably a coincidence,” he said of Clinton’s fainting spell and the clot.
Yes the blood clot could have nothing to do with a concussion, or as another doc quoted in the same WaPo article said, it could.
So no reason to beat a retreat from the claim that Hillary's concussion was a fake?
Not so fast. Read the very first sentence of the statement from, you know, her actual treating physicians:
In the course of a routine follow-up MRI on Sunday, the scan revealed that a right transverse sinus venous thrombosis had formed [...] - Dr. Lisa Bardack, Mt. Kisco Medical Group, and Dr. Gigi El-Bayoumi, George Washington University
Got that? A routine follow-up MRI. Hillary had been seen for something that could have done harm inside her head and this was the follow-up to make sure that didn't happen.
Okay, the whole thing could have been an elaborate hoax, but this blood clot is not irrelevant. If we assume honesty on the part of her docs, their statement lends considerable credence to the claim that Hillary was recently treated for a head injury.
