Police responding to a call of people in Lake Michigan discovered two surfers off the 57th Street beach in the Hyde Park community this morning, police said. The officers checked on them about 8:25 a.m. and the surfers were allowed to continue plying the icy waters, Police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.
