Typepad, the blogging platform that hosts this site, is into day five of crippling denial of service attacks. Several tech companies have been targeted for DDoS extortion reently, according to tech crunch. It looks like Say Media (tyepad) is the latest victim. The attackers launch persistent attacks demanding a pay off, which, if paid, only encourages them to extort more.
I wonder where the attacks are originating? China? Russia? Pakistan? Got to be someplace where law enforcement is less than a full partner with North American and Western European authorities.
I can't open my typepad dashboard from my laptop or desktop, but I just posted the above from IPad app, blogsy. I'd written the post intending to save it locally until typepad resumed service, but tried posting it just to see if the blogsy's side door was working. It was. It didn't work yesterday when I tried the same thing.
As I'm writing this, I see that my blog is available to readers, but I also see that many other typepad blogs are still completely inaccessible.
