I'm still a Windows/Android man, except for the iPad, though I frequently borrow a high-end Macbook Pro. I still feel more comfortable navigating and managing with Windows. And truth be told, I'll do something on the Windows machine and she, a MacSlave, will say that it seems much more complicated on the Mac, and I answer: because it is.
I don't know if that's actually true, but I know my dad recently switched to a Mac, and I heard he's finding it confusing.
Anyway, I've got a really lightweight but under-powered Windows 10 machine that I carry to work, and a heavier but still easily totable Acer Windows 10 machine with an I5 processor. It's pretty good, but it's getting a little long in the tooth, so I'm shopping without a sense of urgency.
I've recently developed a crush on an Elekutronics laptop. It's too heavy to carry every day, but it would just be for use at home. It's got an I7 processor with a hybrid drive system -- a 256Gb solid state drive backed by a terabyte of hard drive. I could get it with a terrabyte all SSD, but that would drive the price up a lot.
Everything about this laptop looks solid. It's got gamer-level graphics and an unbeatable price for all you get. It isn't a slick looking machine and the heft is a drawback, but since I would only use it at home, the weight shouldn't be a problem.
I'd heard of Elekutronics before, but until recently, I hadn't looked at any of their builds. Anyone else ever buy from this company?
