Palin’s traveling hairstylist, Angela Lew, was paid $10,000 during the first half of October.
Her personal makeup artist and stylist, Amy Strozzi, was paid $22,800 for the first two weeks of October. Strozzi was the highest paid individual in the McCain campaign during the first half of October, according to papers filed with the FEC.
Personally, I couldn't care less about how candidates spend their campaign money. I'm more amused by the fact that conservative bloggers who ridiculed the $400 John Edwards haircuts are unlikely to note the exquisitely embarrassing symmetry of it all. Well, actually, the difference between a couple of $400 haircuts during a two-week period and $33,000 in beauty services during a two-seek period is quite asymmetrical.
Just one other thought on this matter. The McCain people overpaid for Caribou Barbie's hairdo. Still, not a single starburst in my head.
