The first part isn't a rumor. A young attorney I know just participated in an attorney training workshop put on by the Obama campaign. What he claims, though I have no way to verify it, is that the campaign is sending 5,000 trained attorney volunteers to Florida to get their groundlevel ducks in a row for any potential legal challenges. And, they will be sending many more attorneys to other battleground states come election day.
I don't doubt that such an effort is underway, but I was a little surprised by the numbers involved. I suppose the Obama campaign can afford transportation and housing costs for these folks, but are that many attorneys volunteering their time?
