Hmmmm. Is it corrected for ethnic and cultural differences? My grandmother and father and spouse all smile downwards (typical WASPs) if at all, and the first two were married over 50 years til death and my spouse has put up with me over 21 years so far despite my evil ways...What does a broad smile mean anyway? Dumb happy golden retriever benevolence (which everyone loves and want to be around)? I dunno what it all means. What's your professional opinion, based on people you've worked with?

Well, I sure wouldn't use it as an indicator of marital stability in an assessment. Researcher John Gottman would beat the pants off the old photo test.

I'm smiling enormously now that I have dumped the bad marriage!

Stephany, They need "after" photos.
