My, but you're thorough!

Clothes maketh the man.

On a different topic, have been trying to diplomatically communicate to my now more independent but hygienically and sartorially challenged teen kid with issues, that when one has said issues, one has to take greater care with appearances as most people are totally superficial and will decide you are okay if you look clean and tidy and reasonably preppy (around here). Kid explodes. I intone "Life's not fair but suck it up. Now brush your hair and put a button down shirt on."
