Apparently the same thing happened to Alfred Adler.

I once met someone who tried to find Dr. Adler's grave in Edinburgh. Adler died in Aberdeen while on a lecture tour in Scotland (in 1937) and he was cremated and interred in a mausoleum in Edinburgh.

Unfortunately, it seems, no one paid the rent on his space at the mausoleum. He was pulled out of his spot and poured out into the flower beds so that the space could be rented to someone else.

At least Dr. Freud was allowed to keep his spot in a London cemetery.
