The old saying is "Trust in God, but tie your camel."

Perhaps the motto for the narcissist prophets might be "Honour your prophets -- but chaperone your interns."

I worked for a minor prophet whose accomplishments are of great value and which endure to this day, 35 years later, and flourishing. But thank God one of his talents was to attract good workers and organizers to surround him because he couldn't organize his way out of a paper bag. He burned like a hearth fire, and along with attracting funding and collaborators he attracted the requisite hearthstones.

I suppose the best solution to the prophet problem is to know that certain traits often travel with the prophetic trait, and be on guard for them while encouraging the useful core.

Of course, still distracted trying to figure out WHO??? No need to satisfy my unseemly curiousity....

"A prophet is not without honor except in his native place, among his own kin, and in his own house." Mk 6:4
