Rachel Maddow documents the thoroughgoing hypocrisy of congressional Republicans(via Brayton).
In politics we see an interesting paradox. Partisans usually consider themselves to be highly principled, but it seems that the more partisan the person is, the more inconsistent they become. One day they are fighting for something, the next day they are stridently opposed. It's all about opposition. If your enemy is for it, you are against it. If your enemy concedes to your position, you change your position.
We've always had partisan gaming in American political life, but congressional Republicans have elevated the annihilation of genuine principle to a level worthy of an Iraqi parliamentarian.
