Personally, I think they should just have burgers and hotdogs and potluck with their volunteers and campaign workers and staff to thank the people who actually worked for them, and have a big billboard with dollar amounts from all the big campaign contributors and thank you on it (with mandatory reporting of exact amounts).

There isn't a politician out there who represents any ordinary working citizens any more. If you aren't superrich or a big lobbying group fuhgeddabout access or influence. Politics and the candidates are just a giant bread and circusses (like pro sports) designed to distract us from economic and social realities like outsourcing, diminishing civil liberties and job cuts. Who me, cranky?

I FIND IT RATHER SURPRISING THAT SUCH GOINGS ON STILL GET FOLKS SO WORKED UP. THIS HAS BECOME A TRADITION IN AMERICA. LOBBY GROUPS MAKE OR BREAK LEGISLATION.
