Usually, I get to the gym in the evening, but I missed the last two nights due to laziness, and I'll be working late tonight. So I decided that I had to go to the gym this morning instead, but I really didn't want to go.
After giving myself a stern lecture, I capitulated and headed to the gym. I began my workout feeling that I didn't have anywhere near the energy for a real effort, so, I figured, just put in the time, even if it's half-hearted. That's better than simply not going.
Since being ill recently, my energy level hasn't been good. As a result, there have been many skipped days and half-hearted workouts. But something unexpected happened this morning. Within minutes of beginning my workout, I began to feel good. So good, that I ended up getting the most intense workout I've gotten in months. And I had no clue it would be this way until I got started. Why was there such a turnaround today? Not sure. Maybe I should switch to mornings, but I really don't like getting it together for the gym before work. Whatever the reason, it felt good; I hope it lasts for a while.
