We've had gorgeous weather this week. Yesterday we came close to a record breaking high temperature--almost 60F--and today it's beautiful again. Unfortunately, I've got a terrible cold, so bad that after putting up with it since Friday, I took yesterday off entirely, which explains the bump in my blogging activity. I'm off again today, but I'm working on reports.
My sleep has been crazy for days--irregular, with florid dreams, waking with intense chills. And during waking, long stretches with absolutely no appetite punctuated by periods of ravenous hunger triggered by forcing myself to eat. Also periods of terrible aching, even my eyeballs hurting.
Yesterday, either my email was compromised or I was so messed up that I read a bunch of emails and now have no recollection of reading them. They were all marked read, but I have absolutely no recollection of looking at them. It was probably good that I wasn't at the office doing therapy.
I'm glad that I set New Year's Day as the date to achieve my new fitness goals rather than using January 1st as the day to begin. For much of January, the gym has been packed with people trying to start out the new year right, which is great for them, but it makes it very difficult to get in a strong workout. Either weight equipment I need is backed up with users, or the cardio machines aren't available when it works for me. In the last week of January, things started to ease up a little, but I was too fatigued to get in a good workout as this cold began to set in.
I tell myself that it probably wasn't so bad that January was a light workout month after 3 months of very intense training. It's good to give the body an easier period after a long stretch of hard training, but I do have to get cracking again or I'll lose the progress I made in the last 3 months of 2011.
I may pop in with a post or two as the day goes on. I like to break and clear my thoughts between sections as I write reports.
