Dick Clark is gone.
I took a look at the Wikipedia entry for American Bandstand. I didn't know that at one point during the early years it was airing for 90 minutes every weekday. That's a lot of time for kids to watch celebrities lipsync for a group of high school kids dancing.
That was such a different time. No internet, no iPhone, no Adderall, only 2-8 broadcast channels on TV and no schedules filled and organized by adult overseers. If Back To The Future was remade today, it would be a story about Marty McFly climbing the walls without all of the environmental supports for the hypomanic, new normal.
