I'm not sure I agree with the proposed solution of scrubbing the registrations. I think the practical effect of doing so might be to deny the opportunity to vote to at least some people who are eligible to vote. Even if a heroic effort is made to notify everyone whose registrations are scrubbed, it is possible that some will not get the notice. I think the solution should rest with pursuing whatever laws this organizer probably violated and not to deregister people.

In other words, the cost of scrubbing the registrations might be to deny some people the right to vote. That leaves a sour taste in my mouth, and I don't think that cost is worth the benefit of denying the realization of this organizer's scheme.

I think the punishment should be a deficit count for Romney to the number of however many voters they registered. If they registered 100 voters for Romney, then in that county, they should discard the first 100 votes for Romney.
