I want to be clear that I don't view eccentricity as disordered and I'm uncomfortable with the term disordered in many instances where the label is applied to what I see as merely difference. Variations in individual tendencies toward conformity could even be an evolved advantage: perhaps we benefit from wide diversity in tendencies to conform.

I've worked with people with Aspergers, for example, and while there is difficulty navigating the social world, some find their niche and do very well.
