By 7am we had a couple of inches on the ground and the snow is expected to continue throughout the day. I did take the car for a spin and realized it would be a slow and risky to drive to the job. As it is, the trip takes close to an hour and half. Double the time in this weather and canceling becomes a no-brainer. Besides, the last thing I want on a Saturday night is to find myself stranded sixty miles from home.
The shots below show Michigan Avenue at 8:00am. They've kept it clean so far, but that's not saying much because the city has been throwing down tons of salt and it gets non-stop snow removal during a storm. Everything else is getting rough.
