Here we have the happier, warmer, pastoral scene; primary colors (blue, red, yellow flowers in the foreground) and flat whites and near blacks. Simplicity and honesty, a portrait of American virtues. The sky is a great example of the "rules" of painting a sky. Lightest where it touches the ground, darker as it rises, with its truest, most vibrant chroma being in one corner or other of the sky. Nice!
