That's interesting. I've noticed those, too, recently, but I didn't make the connection with suicide by jumping in front of a train. I just thought it was a public health thing.

I was talking with a friend yesterday about someone that we knew that committed suicide by train.
He dropped on the track so the wheel ran over the area between his hips and his rib cage. The train had already been going slow, braked and stopped on top of him.
It didn't immediately kill him, and he suffered awfully.
When they advanced the train he died quickly because his torso/legs were no longer pinched off and everything drained off... loss of blood pressure.
The train was a passenger /tourist thing only a few cars long, unfortunately dozens of people had to disembark in close proximity to a scene that you could only imagine in a horror movie.
Kids don't do this at home.
