....If the Democrats are successful in removing the President from office (which they will never be), it will cause a Civil War like fracture in this Nation from which our Country will never heal.” Pastor Robert Jeffress, @FoxNews— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 30, 2019
Trump tweeted dozens of times yesterday.I have to remind myself that this is the President of the United States, and this is how he chooses to present himself.

No you're not.
“State Department has stepped up Hillary Clinton Email probe.” @foxandfriends You mean the 33,000 Emails that she has deleted and acid washed so they can never be found, even though she said that all 33,000 pertained only to her daughter’s wedding, and her Yoga!— Donald J. But her emails.
These Radical Left, Do Nothing Democrats, are doing great harm to our Country. They are lying & cheating like never before in our Country’s history in order to destabilize the United States of America & it’s upcoming 2020 Election. They & the Fake News Media are Dangerous & Bad!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 29, 2019
Yes, the fake news reported the damning transcript that Trump released.
....In addition, I want to meet not only my accuser, who presented SECOND & THIRD HAND INFORMATION, but also the person who illegally gave this information, which was largely incorrect, to the “Whistleblower.” Was this person SPYING on the U.S. President? Big Consequences!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 29, 2019
Where to begin? This is nuts. Targets don't get to confront Whistleblowers. The whole point of the the whistleblower statute is to stop targets of complaints from menacing and retaliating against those who report public corruption. Those who are charged and go to trial get to confront witnesses the state presents at trial, or in the case of a president, confront the witness at a Senate trial if it gets to that. The whistleblower merely points investigators toward possible matters to be further investigated.
Here, the president obviously misunderstands the purpose of whistleblower protections and, right before out eyes, reminds of exactly why the statute exists. Furthermore, revealing suspected criminal misconduct by a president through legal channels is not "spying." It's the duty of those sworn to uphold and protect the Constitution of United States.
Finally, regarding the inclusion of second-hand information in a complaint, just two words: Linda Tripp. In the present case, many people were cited as witnesses, and there will be time for interviews with the first-hand witnesses. And here, I would stress, what really kicked this investigation into high gear is the transcript released by the president himself. By the way, if you haven't read it, you need to or your opinion on this subject means nothing. There's no reasonable excuse not to read it unless getting through five pages of reading is too intellectually taxing, in which case your opinion most definitely means nothing.
