Georgia's corrupt governor, Brian Kemp, has effectively banned local mask mandates in his state which means that cities and counties with serious virus outbreaks cannot require mask-wearing to protect their residents.
The cartoon is an amusing jab at the foolishness around resistance to wearing masks, but it doesn't do justice to the implications of Kemp's order. Mask requirements are more about protecting others from the virus.
Speaking of foolishness, a 30-year-old Florida man died from the effects of the virus after attending a COVID party where guests gather to purposely expose themselves to the virus:
“One of the things that was heart-wrenching that he said to his nurse was, you know, I think I made a mistake and this young man went to a COVID party,” Dr Jane Appleby, the chief medical officer at Methodist hospital told KSAT. “He didn’t really believe, he thought the disease was a hoax. He thought he was young and he was invincible and wouldn’t get affected by the disease.”
