.@FoxNews daytime ratings have completely collapsed. Weekend daytime even WORSE. Very sad to watch this happen, but they forgot what made them successful, what got them there. They forgot the Golden Goose. The biggest difference between the 2016 Election, and 2020, was @FoxNews!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 12, 2020
He really thinks news outlets are propaganda units that should serve his personal needs. This is an example of his primitive expectation that others exist to serve his needs. People are not independent, whole beings in their own right, with their own perspectives and needs. Others are part-objects--wish-fulfilling or wish-frustrating extensions of Trump's internal world.
This is why Trump expects an entire news organization, headed by a family far more wealthy than his family, with their own agenda, and thousands of employees, to act as a mere extension of himself.
This is what he expects as president as well. The government and all of its employees, including elected officials, exist as wish-fulfilling or wish-frustrating extensions of himself. He cannot see things any other way. To discover, now, that voters backed by the wheels of government are showing him the door is as if his own hand refuses to obey the commands of his mind. He cannot accept it.
I am still staggered by the number of people who listen to Trump's statements and can't recognize the disastrous implications of having such a character in any leadership position in any organization, nevermind the presidency of the most powerful nation on Earth.
