Election officials, including Republicans across the country, say they found no evidence of election fraud. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, established under Donald Trump in 2018 as part of the Homeland Security, says there was no significant election fraud. Trump is getting shellacked in court as judges appointed by Republicans and Democrats reject his frivolous claims. Yet, in the middle of the night, Donald Trump tweeted a reality-denying appeal to the American population's most deluded elements.
The proportions of Trump's false claim driven by delusion versus grift can't be determined, but both are part of his makeup. His bottomless grandiosity drives reality distortions, and his gargantuan sense of entitlement sans conscience makes it as easy for Trump to lie as it is for him to breathe. Whatever the psychological constituents, this tweet is utter nonsense.
I WON THE ELECTION!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 16, 2020
Nope. Joe Biden won the election. With 306 electoral votes, Biden won the election with the same comfortable electoral college lead that powered Trump's 2016 victory over Hillary Clinton. The difference this time is that the winner also won the popular vote by 5 million and a vote total far exceeding previous records for the winner's popular vote total.
It couldn't be more clear: Joe Biden is the president-elect of the United States.
